“Essence of Time” unit report: Aidar Battalion is redeployed to Marinka

The intelligence of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) recorded the redeployment of Aidar Battalion to the outskirts of Donetsk and the gathering of the military equipment of the Ukrainian army at the contact line, “Essence of Time” unit reported on their official page in the social networks on the evening of May 8th.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian artillery opened fire on Spartak village, the former Donetsk airport, and the area of “Yasinovatskiy” checkpoint in the northern outskirts of Donetsk, Luganskoe township in the southern outskirts of the city. Zaytsevo village and mining village Gagarin (Glubokaya) on the outskirts of Gorlovka were also shelled. 82mm and 120mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, automatic grenade launcher, recoilless anti-tank gun and small arms were used. One soldier of DPR Armed Forces was killed in the shelling.

On May 8, the enemy fired 63 shells at the territory of the Republic. On average, 60 shells per day were being fired during the last week, though, before the ‘Orthodox Easter ceasefire’, the Ukrainian army shelled around 300 shells per day,” stated in the report.

The Ukrainian army continues to deploy military hardware and artillery to the front line. The DPR Intelligence also spotted the redeployment of militants of Aidar Battalion in Marinka, west of Donetsk.

The unit reported that, according to the DPR Intelligence, forty of Ukrainian tanks, heavy artillery, and infantry fighting vehicles are located at the demarcation line.
