On April 8 “Essence of Time” unit reported that Ukrainian army shelled Gorlovka by mortars, automatic grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles, and tanks.
In the morning of April 9, Ukrainian army shelled northern outskirts of Donetsk and Gorlovka by a hundred mortar shells. Two elderly women, one in Zaytsevo village, another one in Gorlovka, were injured by the shelling and hospitalized. One DPR serviceman was killed by a Ukrainian sniper, Donetsk News Agency reports.
Zaitsevo, Golmovskiy, Shirokaya Balka townships, and mining village Glubokaya were shelled on April 8. Combat using small arms erupted in this region. Anti-aircraft weapons shoot down enemy’s unmanned aerial vehicles.
A rotation of the Ukrainian army units was conducted on the Gorlovka direction. 53rd mechanized brigade replaced 57th motorized infantry brigade in the positions.
The situation was tense in the southern direction. Sakhanka and Kominternovo villages were shelled. Combat was underway near Dokuchaevsk town, on the northern outskirts of Donetsk and in the area of Yasinovatskiy checkpoint.
On April 8, the former Donetsk Airport, Spartak township, the area of Volvo-center and the area of “Yasinovatskiy” road police post on Donetsk-Gorlovka route were under Ukrainian fire. Kiev junta’s punitive forces used 120mm mortars, 152mm heavy artillery, and tanks. Donetsk People’s Republic Armed Forces suffered casualties; there are killed and wounded.
