DPR city and region authorities prepared hundreds of New Year's Eve and Orthodox Christmas events

Heads of local administrations of cities and regions of Donetsk People’s Republic have shared the plans regarding the New Year Eve celebrations in the Republic.

We will have fireworks on the central square of the city on the New Year’s night, at 02:00. We have already bought the fireworks, we are preparing everything,” said the head of Novoazovsk region Oleg Morgun. He added 31 New Year event already took place for the residents, another 27 will take place before January 19, 2016.

Yasinovataya authorities decided not to have fireworks this year, however, the residents of the Yasinovataya region free from the Bandera Nazi occupants will have a New Year’s celebration.

We are a pre-frontline region, which is why we won’t launch the firework. We are planning to hold approximately 70 New Year events until the end of school winter brake,” Yasinovataya administration head Yury Yanenko said.

Starobeshevsky region, according to its head Ivan Mikhaylov, will have 14 Christmas tree events – one in each village administration.

Every village administration has its own main Christmas tree. All Houses of Culture are operating, all kindergartens and schools – we will organize over 50 events for our residents until the end of the winter brake,” he added.

In the south of the Republic, in Telmanovo region, the security will be tightened, with law enforcement, including commandant’s office, road police and internal troops patrolling the region to ensure the safety of the New Year’s Eve celebration. At the same time, a large New Year’s Eve dancing party will take place on the central square of Telmanovo, at the main Christmas tree of the region.

We have already prepared all of the required hardware. The dances will continue until the very morning,” the head of the region administration Aleksandr Sursyakov promised.

In the north, in Gorlovka, New Year 2016 is also expected to be celebrated in style. A total of four Father Frosts (Russian Santa Claus – Editor) and four Snegurochka (Father Frost’s daughter – Editor) will entertain adults and children near the main Christmas tree of the city.

According to our estimates, over two thousand people will visit the New Year’s Eve celebration on Gorlovka central square,” noted the head of Gorlovka city administration, Roman Khramenkov.

Other local administration of the Republic have prepared to the winter celebrations. Over a hundred events are planned in Makeevka, and the central square of Amvrosiyevka city is decorated with a total of two Christmas trees.

The curfew will be cancelled for the New Year’s and Orthodox Christmas night in Donetsk People’s Republic. According to the latest information from the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic, celebration events will take place in a total of 36 cities and villages, over a 100 thousand people are estimated to take part in these. Approximately 1700 law enforcement officers will secure the safety on the celebration night.
