Kurginyan indicates future spots of bloodshed near Russia

Ukraine and the Caucasus will soon become crisis spots on Russia’s borders, political scientist, crisis analyst, and the leader of the Essence of Time social movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 23 on the Right to Know TV program on the TVC channel.

The political scientist explained why these crisis spots can become places of bloodshed. He believes that the point is the Russian-Turkish relations.

“If a real, strategic, and profound convergence between Turkey and Russia is possible, it is worth making big sacrifices for. A new world map where Russia and Turkey are together (everyone hopes that Turkey’s relations with the USA will worsen) would be a great achievement,” Kurginyan believes.

However, the expert immediately explained that the described configuration is unrealistic, “I don’t believe the slightest bit in this concept.”

To explain his point of view, the political scientist referred to the relations between Russia and Germany, which are natural allies in theory. However, two of the most bloody conflicts took place between the two countries. The hope for a strategic convergence with Turkey is a similar mistake, the political scientist believes.

“This is a complete chimera. It will expose itself mercilessly first of all in Ukraine, where the Turks will support the Ukrainians on the Crimean issue as well as other directions. When it is exposed, and a new world map appears, and Russia faces the army of the Turan at the same time ― then the constants on the southern direction will change,” Kurginyan explained.

The political scientist also noted that Russia can “resolve the Ukrainian fate of Donbass” within one to three days. To this end, the pro-Western group in the Russian establishment has to be gently removed from politics. However, this cannot be done today because of another illusion, the one of making Russia part of the West.

“This whole system of insane hopes, like that of a dying man that he will jump up and run 40 km, is the only thing that retards Russian development. This must be abandoned first of all, and then new options will open,” Kurginyan believes.

He suggested that we should remove the pro-Western blemish in our vision of reality, give a clear assessment of the current situation, and face the truth.

“The main direction at the moment is Ukraine. Perhaps, Belarus as well. And the southern direction is coming, too. The latter is being mitigated by this chimera of Russian-Turkish convergence, which I think may last another nine or ten months,” Kurginyan stressed.
