Kurginyan: If Putin can’t keep Erdoğan on a leash, things will be bad

Situational reactions in crisis environments are Russian President Vladimir Putin’s strong side, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said in an interview to Business Online published on January 17.

He stressed that the only thing Putin trusts is his political instinct, which is pretty flawless.

“These are situational reactions in crisis environments. Putin is a very strong leader with this style. However, this style has both advantages and disadvantages. And God forbid the disadvantages prevail. And this depends on the situation,” the political scientist explained.

He believes that the president is now waiting for a crisis process to come.

“Can he [Putin] use passes, hypnosis, or economic interests to successfully keep Erdoğan restrained? That’s great if he can. Let him do so. However, I think that he [Erdoğan] will break free. There are also other parties that want to get him off the leash. And this would be bad,” Kurginyan said.

Nevertheless, according to the analyst, Putin is independent, while the country is not. Russia is trying to become part of the Western mega-trend, furthermore, on inferior terms.

The domestic bureaucracy cannot even buy support from active political groups. Firstly, it simply has less money than Soros has, who has already bribed these groups. Secondly, the “Soros cliques,” in addition to direct corruption, offer status: “you receive respect, invitations to conferences, receive training, and make acquaintances,” the analyst explained.

Thirdly, and most importantly, “the bureaucracy is not solving problems, but it is utilizing resources,” Kurginyan stressed, because it “lacks any ideological drive.”
