Destroying the Republican Party and preventing it from coming to power in the future is one of the goals for the country’s new president Joe Biden and his team, said political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on January 19 in an interview with the Donetsk Union TV channel.
According to the political scientist, two processes are unfolding on the domestic political horizon in the US. He described the first process as an attempt to eliminate the Democratic Party’s direct political competition.
“First, there will be an attempt to dismantle the Republicans altogether, along with Trump, because it will be very scary to see Trump coming back or someone worse coming to replace him. And that will happen. Democrats will try to use these four years to remove the Republican Party from the political scene,” explained Kurginyan.
According to the leader of the Essence of Time, the Democratic Party itself is no longer an integral monolith, a crack has run through it, and there has been a tendency towards a divide between socialists and the moderate wing.
“There are two processes taking place: the struggle between the Democrats and the Republicans, and the struggle within the Democratic Party,” concluded the political scientist.
On January 13, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi signed an indictment against US President Donald Trump as part of the impeachment procedure, stating that Trump poses a danger to the US.
On January 16, House Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said that resignations will not save the reputation of Trump administration officials.
Hoyer said that all the members of the administration were part of “the most dysfunctional, corrupt and destructive Administration in history,” and they should be ashamed of what they did.
