A sabotage attack at the gas filling plant on Saturday, August 24, resulted in a fire. No victims were reported, but the plant’s infrastructure was significantly damaged. According to Minister Quevedo, a group of experts will investigate the incident.

The Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez said that the Venezuelan people totally reject sabotage attacks against governmental services. “Together we will defend our country from those aiming to destroy it, from those who attack civilians,” Rodríguez said.

On August 23, a sabotage attack in the Caracas subway undermined the operation of the subway electric power system. According to Rodríguez, the attackers deliberately intend to destroy the country’s public utilities in order to leave Venezuelans without electric power, transport, and water.
