On October 4 Essence of Time mission in Donbass reporters visited one of the training grounds of Donetsk People’s Republic, where large-scale brigade tactical drills of DPR People’s Militia took place.
According to the script of the drills, a brigade tactical group repelled an attack of the opposing force, after which the brigade launched a large counter-offensive. Gun crews conducted powerful artillery preparation, after which the military hardware and infantry moved out. The offensive took place in the conditions of complicated radio-electronic environment. After the defeat of the opposing force, the brigade tactical group captured an “advantageous” frontier and dug in there.
All tasks set by the commanders were aced.
The scale of the drills is staggering. A large number of hardware and artillery was used. The cohesiveness of units in a complicated environment was honed in the course of accomplishing the combat tasks. Command and communication personnel tested their skills. Ways and methods of combat were being perfected, the effectiveness of using weapons and military hardware was being increased.
We wish to note that on almost all of the drills of DPR army we visited one and the same scenario was being exercised – repelling an enemy attack and a counter-attack. This is a good illustration of the intent of the leadership of the Republic to stay in the frame of the Minsk Agreements and peaceful resolution. However, this also demonstrates that our commanders are ready to see Ukraine attempt to leave the Minsk format and revert to full-scale combat. Donbass has no and won’t have any illusions regarding the peacefulness of Bandera Nazis.
