Ukraine detained 5 citizens of DPR in the past week

Five residents of Donetsk People’s Republic were detained over the past week by the Ukrainian military, an employee of the Office of the Ombudswoman of the Republic reported. Three of the detainees are civilians, two are soldiers.

The representative of the Ombudswoman said that, as of today, 1101 people remain in Ukrainian captivity, about a third of them (361 people) are servicemen of DPR army, 569 are dissidents, and 171 are civilians, who are not related to the war. Furthermore, part of 402 people reported missing may also be in Ukrainian captivity.

During the meeting of the Contact Subgroup on Humanitarian Affairs in Minsk on January 20th, representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics proposed to make a complete exchange of prisoners but failed to reach an agreement on this with the Ukrainian side.
