Germans possess their own archetype, which is focused on war, and this militaristic spirit can be awakened in even the most listless characters among the petty bourgeois, but it requires a leader equal in scale to Hitler in his abominations, political scientist, philosopher, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan explained on December 13 on the TVC program Right to Know.
Asked to comment on NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s remarks about modern Europeans’ readiness for war, Sergey Kurginyan recalled that the Germans of Weimar Germany absolutely did not want to go to war, yet when Hitler came to power, Nazi Germany carried out its Drang nach Osten, exterminating tens of millions of people during World War II.
“There are very specific archetypes that can be activated in any, excuse me, perverse burgher, any listless German. The right person just have to press certain buttons, and this entire militaristic spirit will be activated. It never dies. It can fall asleep. It can be greatly weakened. A lot can be transformed in this German. And they, of course, are absolutely unprepared for what Rutte is talking about. But this preparation is feasible”, the political scientist noted.
However, in order to prepare Germans for war and awaken their militaristic spirit, it would require completely different people then those who are now ruling Germany – not like current Chancellor Friedrich Merz or former Chancellor Angela Merkel, the political scientist explained.
“They can’t do it. This requires a person equal in scale of his brutality and power of suggestion to Hitler. This must be done by someone who seriously undertakes the awakening these instincts,” the philosopher emphasized.
As a proof, he cited the results of an experiment that shows the existence of the militaristic spirit among Germans, described by one Soviet general. Two teenagers – a Soviet and a German – were offered a choice of activities from among many objects. “Soviet boy goes for a bicycle or a ball, while the one is only interested in a machine gun,” Kurginyan described the results of the experiment.
On the other hand, the philosopher noted that the Russian soldier ultimately fought better than the German soldier in the Great Patriotic War, and that’s precisely why the Soviet Union was victorious.
“We don’t understand what this means. It is not quite clear what the Russian onslaught of 1944–1945 was. It was something remarkable” Kurginyan emphasized. “The Red Army went on the counteroffensive on June 23 for the first time [the second day of the war]. And the French Army — not once.”
It is currently not clear if the modern German citizens has become “so completely liberal, that they only wish to be a consumer and are not ready to revolt,” the political scientist noted. According to him, the Germans “have changed significantly, they have been heavily influenced,” but the likelihood that they can be awakened is 50/50.
