Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH failed to deliver 400 MRAP armored vehicles to the Ukrainian armed units, Bild wrote on April 22, citing an available document.
According to the document from the German Defense Ministry, the German government awarded Flensburger Fahrzeugbau a contract worth 315 million euros for the delivery of 400 MRAP vehicles.
Deliveries were to begin in January, but not a single vehicle has been shipped. The contract was first reduced to 200 vehicles, then to 100.
Flensburger Fahrzeugbau is a large-scale assembler of armored vehicles from the United States. Problems with MRAP mine protection certification and export license restrictions from the USA to Germany prevented it from fulfilling the contract on time.
