Russian Foreign Minister talks about the readiness for NATO provocations in the Black Sea

The United States and its satellites need NATO exercises in the Black Sea to strengthen deterrence against Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a briefing on November 8.

Lavrov noted that Russia got accustomed to being ready for provocative actions by its experience of relations with the North Atlantic Alliance.

The head of the Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that NATO exercises in the Black Sea are taking place contrary to “all the spells that were pronounced in the 1990s and which were embodied in the fundamental act of Russia-NATO.”

“The act has been completely violated in its key part, which stated: the obligation of NATO not to engage in moving its military infrastructure to the East, to the territory of the new members,” Lavrov concluded.

USS Mount Whitney amphibious command ship and the Porter destroyer of US Navy are currently in the Black Sea waters. Earlier, the press service of the US Navy published photos of these ships sailing in the Black Sea together with the Turkish TCG Yavuz (F 240) frigate.
