The development of massive use of unmanned systems will allow the Western countries to have a conflict against Russia without sending their own military personnel directly to the battlefield, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on October 10 on the Right to Know program on TVC.
According to the political scientist, the current massive use of drones is only the initial phase of a much deeper process of the transformation of warfare.
“Currently, drones – although I understand that there are large and very large ones, but in general, metaphorically – are gliders carrying grenades, right? But this will change. And the same thing will happen under water and on land,” Kurginyan said.
He believes that the development of autonomous systems will allow the Western states to considerably extent their involvement in hostilities without suffering comparable casualties.
“The US and the Europeans will not send their people to Ukraine to die there. But why not control a war with unmanned systems from Poland or elsewhere? Why not? No problem. And we can see this already,” the leader of Essence of Time stressed.
Kurginyan noted that in this situation Russia will have to confront not the Ukrainian armed forces alone but the entire technological and military potential of the Western countries.
“This means that we have to confront a new kind of warfare with an increasing collective effort behind it. And we have to react,” the political scientist explained.
According to him, the Russian society must realize the scope of the current transformations, because it is the understanding of danger that will help mobilize the necessary resources.
“It seems to me that when the Russian man – and we are all called Russians, which is absolutely right – understands that everything is tense he can do anything at all, any kind of a miracle,” Kurginyan said.
He added that the reaction of Russia to this threat does not necessarily mean the use of nuclear weapons.
“And it is not necessarily a nuclear strike. It is important that this truth infiltrates the mind,” the leader of Essence of Time concluded.
