The Russian army hit a tanker supplying fuel and oil for the Ukrainian army in the Odessa port, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on September 18 on Max.
“In the Odessa port, the strikes hit a tanker type sea vessel that transported fuel and oil for the Ukrainian army,” the report says.
Reportedly, the same day the Russian Armed Forces continued striking the Ukrainian ports and sea vessels used by the Ukrainian army.
Since mid July 2026, the Russian army began regular strikes on the Ukrainian ports and ships used for the transportation of military cargo. The strikes target the ports of Greater Odessa, i.e. Odessa, Chernomorsk, Yuzhny, and Izmail.
As a result, foreign cargo ships virtually stopped entering these harbors, and the Odessa port suffers a massive outflow of workers due to forced downtime and loss of wages.
