The US President Donald Trump’s political base, built around influential bloggers, collapses in wartime, political scientist, philosopher, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 17 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio station.
The political scientist explained that Trump’s political base is a network structure made up of various powerful bloggers who maintain their audiences.
“Bloggers need two things. First and foremost, they need their audience to grow, and secondly, they need it not to shrink. That’s it. They have no other desires,” he noted.
According to the philosopher, they are concerned only with view counts. If views decline, they change direction. Seeing an opportunity to increase their audience by criticizing the war in Iran, bloggers shifted toward that segment of viewers, since they rely not on fixed funding but on revenue generated by views. The absence of party discipline “immediately backfired on Trump,” turning the strengths of his base into weaknesses.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement also added that within the US Democratic Party there are many supporters of Palestine, and that the Islamic lobby in the United States, irritated by the bombing of Iran and migration policies, is seeking channels of communication with Republican bloggers and the antisemitic wing of MAGA. According to Kurginyan, if these forces converge, it could seriously harm Trump: it would be enough to attract 12–15% of independent voters and build a bridge between those dissatisfied with migration policy within the US Democratic Party and those in MAGA who are unhappy with “pulling Israel’s chestnuts out of the fire.”
“This is very difficult, yes. Very difficult to unite those who believe that Black people should be eliminated with those very same Black people. But it is a solvable task. It is enough to solve this task and for the US Democratic Party to slightly awaken for Trump to lose the congressional elections. And once he loses them, any impeachments will become a matter of technique,” Kurginyan emphasized.
