The attacks of the USA and Israel against Iran have no reasonable explanations, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on March 20 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
The political scientist indicated the difference between Iran and Iraq where the US entered its troops. He noted that Iraq is located in quite a plain territory where tanks can be easily moved. Also, according to Kurginyan, Iraq, like almost all authoritarian systems, was kept together by a charismatic leader (in Iraq it was Saddam Hussein). When such a leader is killed, the entire authoritarian system fails.
“But Iran has no authoritarian system. Iran is a theocratic state with a mosaic distribution of power. Killing one or ten or a hundred of people would not undermine the authorities. It is all determined by demoralization of the population and their readiness to surrender. But this is not about the Persians, it was a great mistake,” the leader of Essence of Time explained.
At the same time, he stressed that Iran is a huge mountainous territory, and what is good for a plain will not work in the mountains. According to him, Iran has prepared everything for war in the mountains, and the enemy will be defeated there.
“The Americans say they have always triumphally won. This is not true. The Americans have no right, if they are at least somewhat realistic, to forget their war in Vietnam where they entered a large contingent, where they offered support to everyone, where they had various dictators under their control, and where they shamefully fled under the pressure from the North Vietnam army,” the political scientist said.
Also, Kurginyan stressed that for a minor nation, which can be totally eliminated, the key factor during war is their moral courage and readiness to resist.
“Iran is too large to be eliminated. What is it all about? What is it all for? What is expected to happen? And why use this approach to those who were absolutely ready to accept any compromises?” the political scientist asked, and he noted that there are no reasonable answers.
Kurginyan stressed that from the rational point of view, for any state so-called barbarians, i.e. radical Islamists, are much more dangerous than a country that wants to develop and to make a transition to a secular way of life, has historical and cultural traditions, and seeks cultural education.
“It is absolutely clear that a barbarian is the key force (I do not mean any kind of humiliation when I say ‘barbarian’) that is dangerous for any so-called enlightened state. Any secular state fears barbarians,” the political scientist explained.
He stressed that the US and Israel are bombing Iran, which is not a country of barbarians, and this has no simple reasonable explanation, because this is a war against enlightened Islam, but not against radical Islamists.
