Even if the United States installed Reza Pahlavi as a new Shah of Iran, he would not do anything to destroy the country, political scientist, philosopher, and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 23 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.
He also noted that attempts have long been made to involve the son of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in Iran’s dismantle, who currently resides in the United States.
“This descendant of the Shah, Pahlavi, has been repeatedly recruited to call for certain actions. But he won’t call for Iran’s dismantle. Even if it is the last day of his live. He won’t utter a word about it. And there is no one among US elite who will force him to do so. Because consolidation will take place immediately,” the analyst explained.
The Iranians understand that without consolidation, they will not survive in the region where they are essentially surrounded by the Sunnis.

Sergey Kurginyan explained, “[Iran] is a Shiite country, among other things, with a remarkable tradition of Shiite Sufism, brilliantly described by the great orientalist Henri Corbin. The political scientist recounted that when he attended meetings in Iran for radical Sunni Islamic youth, everyone howled with delight at the chant “Death to Zionism!” and when the speaker mentioned the Mahdi [according to Shiite beliefs, the last successor of the Prophet Muhammad, Mahdi, is alive and will, and soon will restore justice on earth – Rossa Primavera News Agency], everyone expressed extreme displeasure.

The Iranians responded to the recent protests “in the only possible way,” Sergey Kurginyan explained. Of course, “some injustices were committed” in this process, and their methods are not completely flawless. But it is better to deal with a small number of people, “some of whom are already clearly receiving weapons from the USA and Israelis,” than to pay for it later with millions of casualties, the political scientist emphasized.
He added that, of course, there exists a confrontation within the Iranian elite, including the relationship between Iranian intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and all these relations are very complex.
“Russia had experienced something like this, and elsewhere in the world something similar takes place. The CIA and the Pentagon have never been friends. But for now, they maintain some consolidation and the will for development of the country,” the political scientist emphasized.
Today, this consolidation is precisely the reason that allows Iran to resist a large-scale war with Israel, which the Anglo-American elites want to bring in order to destroy both of them, Sergey Kurginyan emphasized.
