Ukraine today is led by a consolidated ultra-Russophobic group, which is driven not by economic reasons but by the destruction of Russia, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on December 26 on the Conversation with a Sage program on Radio Zvezda.
According to the political scientist, back in the Soviet period the elite promoted a project of the integration into Europe. To this end, the USSR was destroyed, and the Soviet socialism was replaced with an imitational democracy. This project continued in the post-Soviet period. At the same time, some part of the elite groups, including ones from the KGB, would agree even to disintegrate the Russian Federation because the Western elite insisted that Russia was too large and that it could only be allowed to integrate into Europe by parts.
However, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the elite groups around him rejected the scenario of the disintegration of Russia. A reply to the West was given in Putin’s speech at the Security Conference in Munich in 2007. Thus, the elite groups that would agree to disintegrate the Russian Federation for the sake of becoming part of Europe failed. Meanwhile, the groups that dreamed about integrating Russia into Europe as a whole were part of the current elite that governed the country.
“…The groups of ‘modernization by parts’ suffered a severe defeat after 2007. However, the groups of ‘integration as a whole’ or ‘modernization as a whole’ dominated. They continued to operate, and both the state and the society were organized accordingly!” the leader of Essence of Time explained.
However, Kurginyan stressed, the Special Military Operation broke all the constants that had formed for the integration into Europe including the principles of the army and the defense industry. Similarly, the Nomonhan Incident and the Soviet-Finnish War modified the approaches that had formed before the Great Patriotic War.
“Therefore, what we call SMO – and it is a fantastic fusion of the Nomonhan Incident, the battles at the Khasan Lake, in Spain, in Finland, and many other things that happened before the Great Patriotic War – broke all these constants!” Kurginyan said.
Before the Special Operation began, the Russian top officials believed that the Russian Federation had a perfect army and a perfect economy, so “we will just hit and swat this Ukrainian fly with a single blow.”
However, a rapid special operation in Ukraine was impossible not only because the Russian armed forces and the defense industry were not in an appropriate condition but also because Ukraine has an ultra-Russophobic and very consolidated group that seeks to destroy Russia and the Russians. This group was fostered by the West for generations, and it came to power after the Maidan.
“We could not avoid swatting it [the neo-Nazi Ukraine] because it was a poisonous tsetse fly whose bite would be deadly! But in fact it is not a fly, it is forty million (or somewhat above thirty) brainwashed people led by a consolidated group that was formed over centuries (!) as a super-consolidated and really Nazi ultra-Russophobic entity,” Kurginyan said.
He added that for this consolidated neo-Nazi group, economy is not the key thing, “it lives to kill the Muscovites!”
The political scientist stressed that, starting the SMO, Russia rebuffed this group. He indicated that the neo-Nazi Ukraine suffered a rebuff from a country that had been designed for the integration into Europe. However, when the war turned out to be long, it became clear that the state has to be redesigned.
