Fighting maritime drug trafficking with an amphibious assault ship, destroyers, and a submarine is even more absurd than US strikes on Iranian nuclear reactors, philosopher, political scientist, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on October 17 on the Conversation with a Sage program.
According to The New York Times (NYT), the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima with 4,500 sailors, the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit with 2,200 marines, and a strike submarine are stationed in Puerto Rico. In addition, ten F-35 stealth fighters have also been redeployed there.
In the southern Caribbean, US Navy missile destroyers USS Jason Dunham, USS Gravely, and USS Sampson are deployed, along with the missile cruiser USS Lake Erie and the combat ship USS Minneapolis–Saint Paul.
“If reasonable humanity, which, in my opinion, does not exist, took this idea seriously, it would ask: why should the largest naval vessel, the Iwo Jima, a 300-meter-long helicopter carrier, come to fight imaginary cartels like the Cartel of the Suns, which do not even exist and therefore do not transport most drugs by sea?” Kurginyan noted.
Since Venezuelan waters lie outside the main narcotics trafficking routes, the US fleet has attacked four motorboats allegedly carrying drugs since August. A total of 27 people aboard those boats were killed.
“This is a million times more absurd than US strikes on Iranian reactors. But the reactor is a big target at least. They did not hit anything, but at least it’s comparable — a small plane with a ‘bunker buster’ bombs versus a reactor. And here, it is just a boat. The full might of their naval forces chasing boats,” emphasized Sergey Kurginyan.
Trump’s previous presidential term, the US attempted a sabotage operation called Gideon on May 3, 2020, which ended in failure.
