Kurginyan: When Turkey stops being friends with Russia, it will become the main threat

11.08.2025, Moscow.

As soon as Russia stops being friends with Turkey, Ankara will become Russia’s main threat, political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on July 25 on the Conversation with a Sage program on the Zvezda radio channel.

“I put the question point-blank. If the Turks will complement Russia’s interests, while Russia complements the Turkish interests, then they are our great brothers. But if they are not of complement to Russia, then they are the main threat, because there are many of them,” the political scientist explained.

The expert stressed that in such a situation, Russia should do take a twofold approach: fight for the complementary relationships and pay attention to the moment when they disappear.

It is necessary to do everything to preserve these complementary relationships, but watch carefully to see how the other side responds. “When you feel that they are disappearing, wipe the cold sweat from your forehead and fight for the Russian interests. Otherwise, there won’t be any Russia left. None at all!” Sergey Kurginyan emphasized.

He reminded about the situation that could be further complicated by the forces hostile to Russians which could greatly destabilize a considerable number of migrants in our country. “If one-tenth of the migrant population of Moscow and the Moscow region takes to the streets, will one see any security forces? Or will there be no one? 300 thousand!” the analyst pointed out.

He emphasized that there are factors that are currently holding back external forces from such destabilization aimed at the collapse of Russia.

“I understand what is holding back the implementation of such a scenario. A horrible fear of radical Islam conquering a nuclear country holds the US and NATO back, that’s understandable. The same goes for strengthening of China by taking over Siberia. For now, these fears are restraining them. And what Russia should do when these fears stop restraining them?” the political scientist noted.
