The Security Belt – 2025 naval exercises, involving Russian and Chinese warships, began in the Iranian port of Chabahar, the Russian Defense Ministry stated on March 9.
The Russian Navy is represented in the northern Indian Ocean drills by the corvettes Rezky and Hero of the Russia Aldar Tsydenzhapov, as well as the medium-sized sea tanker Pechenga.
A total of 15 warships, support vessels, and combat boats are taking part in the exercises, along with naval aviation helicopters.
During the drills, the sides will practice counter-piracy operations, search and rescue missions, and conduct artillery exercises targeting sea and air threats.
The Marine Security Belt international naval exercises are being held for the seventh time.
