Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has not excluded the possibility of cooperation with Boeing on the purchase of titanium

21.02.2025, Moscow.

Russia may sign a titanium purchase agreement with Boeing if the US company has such a desire, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said, TASS reported on February 21.

As for cooperation with Boeing, it has been traditional for a long time, before the special military operation. When Boeing decided to leave the titanium valley, where the corresponding capacities for processing primary titanium were actually created, they bought in large quantities not just “blanks” but ready-made products, complete parts for their airplane. If they are ready to return, we are ready to consider it,” journalists quoted Manturov as saying.

Boeing is one of the largest American companies engaged in the production of civil and military airplanes, as well as space equipment. The company voluntarily refused to import titanium from Russia in 2022, when the special military operation in Ukraine began. Now the question of Boeing’s return to the economic life of the Russian Federation arises.

It has been reported on social media that Boeing wants to allow Russian airlines to buy components and airplanes again. At first it will be done through transportation carriers, then it will move to direct deliveries. But in exchange, the Americans need titanium.
