One of the most important factors inherent to the US is the Roman worldview, said political scientist, philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on January 30 in an interview with BelTA.
The political scientist noted that all major US politicians and political scientists without exception have a Roman worldview, that is, a sense of the empire and its relations with the rest of the world as with “barbarians.” Among other things, this can be seen in the statements made by US President Donald Trump, former President Joe Biden, billionaire Elon Musk, and others, emphasized the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
Sergey Kurginyan spoke about a vivid manifestation of such a worldview when he came to Israel after the September 11 attacks in the USA in 2001. He wanted to find out whether Israel understands the scale of the fascist threat and whether it is possible to reach an agreement on joining forces in this struggle with reliance on anti-fascist values, the political scientist explained.
In Israel he met and spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu, the current national leader, and heard one of his public speeches, the philosopher explained. “Our situation is difficult, but I must tell you one piece of good news. Now Rome is with us, unlike ancient times, when Rome was against Judea,” Netanyahu said.
The audience applauded to the words “Rome is with us,” Sergey Kurginyan emphasized. He drew attention to the fact that the leader of a modern state could have avoided using such a metaphor, but it was fitting for the heated moment.
“The war of the worlds became clear, the barbarians, in their understanding, struck. Rome had to demonstrate that it is fighting the barbarians,” the political scientist explained.
Sergey Kurginyan also said that former US President George Bush once called himself a crusader (for which he received a slap in the face from his father and never repeated this statement again), emphasizing this Roman worldview.
“The point is that this Roman worldview is one of the main factors here. Not the feeling of a large country that participates in world politics along with others, but the self-perception of being Rome. Rome, literally as Rome,” the political scientist emphasized.
