Transnistrian head confirms gas supplies to the republic with Russian support

10.02.2025, Tiraspol.

The gas supply crisis in Transnistria was effectively resolved through agreements with all parties involved in the new natural gas supply arrangements, supported by Russia, President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky announced on February 10 via his Telegram channel.

According to the statement, the Hungarian company MET Gas and Energy Marketing AG, in cooperation with Moldovagaz, has been designated as the supplier of gas to Transnistria.

“The Hungarian supply became possible thanks to Russian credit and functional support. I thank representatives of the Russian Ministry of Energy for their assistance,” Krasnoselsky wrote.

He reassured citizens of the unrecognized republic that gas supplies would be secured and the energy system would stabilize.

Previously, Moldova faced a fuel crisis after Kiev authorities halted gas transit through Ukraine. The situation in Transnistria was further complicated by Moldovan authorities obstructing Russian involvement in resolving the issue.
