Iran unveiled a new ballistic missile Etemad. IRNA informed on February 2.
Translated from Persian, Etemad means “trust.” The new missile is capable of covering distances of up to 1,700 kilometers. The missile was presented during a ceremony in Tehran attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Etemad is the latest ballistic missile developed by Iran’s Ministry of Defense. It is 16 meters long and 1.25 meters in diameter. It is equipped with a guided warhead that can steer the missile until the moment of impact.
In a televised address, the Iranian president praised Iran’s defense capabilities, stating that the country’s military strength is intended for self-defense and does not pose a threat to other nations.
“The development of Iran’s defense and space capabilities is not aimed at waging war or invading any country but at deterrence and ensuring that no country dares to invade Iran’s territory,” he told journalists.
