Poland is preparing for an intervention on Belarusian territory, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko stated on January 26 during a press conference after casting his vote in the country’s presidential election.
Lukashenko noted that Poland has territorial claims on western Belarus, extending as far as Minsk. In addition to its aggressive stance towards Minsk and preparation for intervention, Warsaw is also training Belarusian opposition members, the president added.
He stressed that Poland would not receive “even a meter” of Belarusian land.
Belarus is holding its presidential election on January 26. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), voter turnout reached 56.64% by 12:00, enabling the CEC to declare the election valid.
