The bodies of civilians tortured by Ukrainian militants were discovered in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye following its liberation. Servicemen from the Russian Group of Forces Sever said this to RIA Novosti on January 19.

The village, located in the Sudzha District of Kursk Region, revealed grim evidence after its liberation. Bodies of civilians killed by Ukrainian militants were found in the basements of houses.

“Ukrainian nationalists tortured elderly residents who had not managed to evacuate. Their hands were tied, and they were forced into a basement where several grenades were thrown… The elderly had no chance of survival,” a source told the agency.

During the first two weeks of January, the Russian army liberated the villages of Aleksandriya, Leonidovo, Russkoye Porechnoye, and Kruglenkoye. As of now, approximately 63% of the Kursk Region territory previously occupied by the Kiev regime was liberated.
