Concerns over the gas pipeline running through Ukraine drove the European gas price to its highest level in 2024, Bloomberg wrote on August 8.
The agency notes that the spike in gas prices was triggered by concerns following the Ukrainian armed units’ attack on Kursk Region. An important gas metering station is located close to the area where Ukraine attacked.
Bloomberg points out that the cessation of gas supplies through this pipeline would be a “shock” for some Central European countries.
Gazprom stated that gas supplies through Ukrainian territory are continuing.
