Russia will bring peace back to Donbass, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 11 in a congratulatory message to residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics published on the Kremlin website.
The president congratulated the residents of the DPR and LPR on the 10th anniversary of the republics’ formation, noting that today “it is a full-fledged subject of the Russian Federation.” Putin stressed that thanks to the support of the entire country, all the demanded programs are being implemented in the DPR and LPR.
“For long eight years under blockade, despite shelling and provocations of neo-Nazis, you defended Donbass and in September 2022 expressed an unyielding will: to be together with your homeland – Russia,” the address reads.
Putin also noted that the participants of Russia’s special military operation are fighting to liberate historical lands.
