The Crocus City Hall terrorist attack is part of a strategy of tension that the West is unfolding against Russia while losing on the battlefield, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and analyst Sergey Kurginyan said on April 8 in an interview to Belarusian channel BelTA.
Kurginyan noted that any systems are inertial, and the West did not immediately realize that Ukraine cannot win on the battlefield. This followed both open discussions and closed-format negotiations.
However, one should not think that if winning on the battlefield is impossible the West will begin peace talks.
“As they have realized that they cannot win the classical way they will play a non-classical game. Non-classical means a strategy of tension. In fact, Crocus Center is the first sign of such a strategy,” the expert explained.
Therefore, further incidents like the Crocus attack can take place, the political scientist warned, and he urged to prepare for such a scenario.
“However, we must understand that there is no international terrorism on its own. All this is organized and controlled with an incredible degree of centralization,” the expert stressed, and he noted that various network structures have a common control center.
Also, the strategy of tension will be implemented through actions like the attacks against Belgorod, attacks using long-range drones, and supplies of long-range missiles to Kiev.
“Thus, they count on an escalation of tension among the population, which becomes increasingly nervous because of this. On local outbursts of this discontent. And on using these things called ‘the strategy of tension’ and certain elite games to resolve the problems that they cannot resolve on the battlefield,” Kurginyan explained.
