Russia’s Investigative Committee opens a case on financing of terrorism by Western officials

Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the provision of financial assistance to terrorism by officials of the United States and NATO member states on April 9, TASS informed.

It is specified that the criminal case was opened in connection with the facts of relevant appeals by a group of MPs and other individuals.

“The main investigative Department of Russia’s Investigative Committee conducted a check on the appeal of a group of deputies of the State Duma and other persons about the financing of terrorist activities by senior officials of the United States and NATO member states. According to its results, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under part 4 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (financing of terrorism),” the statement reads.
