The murder of Maxim Kuzminov, who hijacked a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter in 2023, was confirmed by sources, Spanish news agency EFE reported on February 20.
The murder took place in the province of Alicante. According to information possessed by the media, the man’s body was found in this province on February 13.
The Guardia Civil, which investigated the case, said at first that it was a 33-year-old Ukrainian. But after some time, the Interior Ministry of the country clarified to journalists that there was a probability of incorrect identification of the deceased man.
The Russian military pilot Maksim Kuzminov hijacked a helicopter Mi-8 in the summer of 2023. He was able to make a flight from Kursk to Ukraine. The serviceman committed this to receive a reward.
Later Kuzminov said that this action was agreed in advance with representatives of the Ukrainian Security Service.
