Russian military expert: French militants could have been specifically sent by France

18.01.2024, Moscow.

French servicemen specifically sent to operate French equipment could be the backbone of the militants killed in Kharkov, military expert and specialist on NATO armies Aleksandr Artamonov said in an interview with TASS on January 18.

In the expert’s opinion, the French servicemen in Kharkov could have been specifically sent by the French government.

“The Minister of Defense sent an order on the French forces in February 2022,  according to which the military was invited to consider itself as being in conflict with the Russian Federation,” he recalled.

At the same time, according to a source in the French armed forces, French servicemen sign a leave of absence statement before being sent to Ukraine.

The presence of the French military, according to Artamonov, is necessary for the use of weapons supplied by Paris to the Kiev regime. As the expert noted, the operation of encryption and codes to communicate with NATO satellites can be carried out only by the alliance’s military.

“To engage the CAESAR self-propelled howitzer or get accurate target designations for the AMX-10RC, it is necessary to communicate with the NATO satellite constellation. Such communication goes by code. No one will provide these codes to foreign military, i.e. Ukrainians who are not members of NATO,” Artamonov emphasized.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, more than 60 militants were killed in Kharkov on January 16, more than 20 were taken to medical institutions. Among the killed and wounded were several dozen Frenchmen.

The French ambassador to Moscow Pierre Lévy has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the incident.
