First SJ-100 aircraft with a domestic PD-8 engine will fly in 2024

The first flight of the SJ-100 aircraft with a domestic PD-8 engine will take place in early 2024, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) CEO Yury Slyusar said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel on December 26.

Slyusar said that PD-8 engines were already been installed on SJ-100 prototype aircraft, ground development will be carried out before the New Year, and the first flight of the SJ-100 with a domestic engine will take place in early 2024.

Slyusar added that the corporation fulfilled the state defense order for 2023: the Irkutsk Aviation Plant handed over new Su-30SM2 fighters and Yak-130 combat trainers to the Russian Defense Ministry.
