The Russian Interior Ministry put the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Kirill Budanov on the wanted list. The corresponding statement was published on December 13 in the Russian Interior Ministry’s database.

After the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) named Budanov as its organizer. The head of the Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence has also repeatedly said that Kiev was involved in terrorist acts against Russian residents.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation filed a case against Budanov back in June 2022.

The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry is charged with threatening to commit a terrorist act – part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigation established that the person under investigation threatened to commit terrorist acts on the territory of the Russian Federation and territories outside Ukraine’s control in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times.

The issue of the Financial Times with the interview with Budanov was published in June 2022. The investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring Budanov to criminal responsibility.
