Those who think that bribes to individual US politicians and officials can alter the West’s strategic policy are making a great mistake, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on December 1 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
“This is situational, small-scale, non-strategic magic thinking. It dominates in 2020s: who bought whom, who reached an backroom agreement etc.,” the political scientist explained the currently widespread “back door deal” doctrine according to which everything is done for money and resolved by money.
Kurginyan stressed that this factor of minor deals has, however, certain importance in the world today, because those involved in major politics, first of all in the West, are themselves quite small-minded and corrupt people. Their priority is their own short-term interests, and they try to avoid any current problems.
“Those who are now involved in this global politics, especially in the West, are small-minded, corrupt, regulated by their private and short-term intentions, and, I apologize, putting it politely, not too smart,” the political scientist stressed, adding that such people use cunning to compensate their lack of intelligence.
However, he said, these minor factors, which may seem significant and even critical to experts who study them, can affect the policy of the US elite within 3-5%, and only for a while.
“We cannot make our stake on this for two reasons: firstly, the chance is low, and secondly, even if it wins for a while, and they [certain people] take the money, and they do something temporarily, for a short period of time, this will change because there are certain invariable constants,” Kurginyan stressed.
He explained that, in addition to everyday little things in life, there are fundamental and invariable interests of the Western elites: to keep power and supremacy by eliminating any potential competitors.
