26% of relocants who left Russia in 2022 and were looking for a job have returned to the country, Gazeta.Ru reported on November 22.
According to Natalia Danina, chief labor market expert at the employment search portal hh.ru, in October the specialists of the portal have analyzed the CVs of relocant job seekers who changed their region from the Russian Federation to another country on the portal during 2022.
She explained that the main reasons that drove their return were the improvement of the situation in Russia and worsening of their situation abroad.
Thus, in September-October, the Russian authorities did not carry out any mobilizations and continue to claim that they do not plan to carry them out, Danina noted.
In addition, unemployment in Russia has reached a record low, and the shortage of personnel always leads to an increase in wages, she said.
On the other hand, relocants abroad have problems with obtaining residence permits or documents to continue working, and their regulatory terms of stay expire, the expert said.
Living abroad and continuing to work for Russian companies has also become more difficult, she added. Firstly, many employers demand that their employees return to Russia, secondly, the ruble exchange rate is falling, and thirdly, other countries are introducing more and more restrictions on financial cross-border transactions, Danina explained.
