Embezzlement of $200 million was confirmed in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Strana ua news and analysis website reported on 1 November, citing the text of the report on the results of Ukraine’s Accounting Chamber audit.
The embezzlement occurred when Oleksiy Reznikov headed the military department. The matter concerns the “unproductive use of budget funds” when purchasing products.
It turned out that expenses for the food supply of Ukrainian fighters per day were higher than those for members of the Nationalist Guard or the Ukrainian Security Service.
It is specified that almost 75% of purchased products were not suitable for cooking in field conditions and canteens, and food was purchased at prices 30% higher than market prices.
