The units of the Army Group “Yug” of the Russian Armed Forces stormed several fortified positions of the Ukrainian militants in the South Donetsk direction, attacking them after an artillery fire, a participant of the assault told RIA Novosti on September 27.
“A massive artillery fire was carried out, then a landing of paratroopers – 15 people – was carried out. The guys successfully coped with the task,” he told.
The soldier emphasized that the attack ended without losses on the Russian side.
Rossa Primavera News Agency earlier wrote, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said on September 26 during security consultations in Cairo that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces had collapsed. He noted that the Ukrainian side was still suffering “huge human losses.”
