German politician Sahra Wagenknecht condemned the desire of the president of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, to admit Ukraine to the European Union (EU) on September 14 on her Facebook (organization banned in Russia) page.
According to Sahra Wagenknecht, the EU already has many major problems and admitting “one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, which even before the war did not have half of the per capita GDP of the poorest EU country” into the union would be harmful for the union.
Wagenknecht also pointed to the social problems in the EU and emphasized that the EU authorities should “take care of the welfare of its citizens rather than spending their money on endless arms supplies and rearmament”.
She believes that the impoverishment of EU citizens is also due to the economic war that von der Leyen is waging against Russia.
