Acting DPR head suggests how the Russian army will respond to supply of SCALP missiles to Kiev

07.08.2023, Donetsk.

For the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the supply of French long-range missiles SCALP will not change anything, as the current weapons of Ukraine already hit almost the entire territory of the republic, said the acting DPR head Denis Pushilin on August 7 on air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

“For the Donetsk People’s Republic, the situation will not change much because the weapons that Ukraine currently has at its disposal hit almost the entire territory,” the politician said.

He noted that these missiles posed a danger primarily to other regions of Russia.

At the same time, Pushilin stressed that SCALPs are an analog of UK’s Storm Shadow missiles. And the Russian army is already developed countermeasures against them.

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskiy confirmed reports that Kiev received new missiles from France. He posted a picture showing him signing one of them.

SCALP is a missile with a launch weight of 1,300 kg, which can carry a warhead of 300-450 kg. The launch range is up to 250 kilometers. According to experts, the missile is a French version of the Storm Shadow.
