Russian Defense Ministry informs about foiled attack by Ukrainian drones in Crimea

Russian units foiled a terrorist attack that the Ukrainian armed units tried to carry out using 17 drones, the Russian Defense Ministry wrote on its official Telegram channel on July 24.

“14 Ukrainian UAVs were suppressed by electronic warfare means, of which 11 drones crashed in the waters of the Black Sea, and another three fell on the peninsula’s territory,” the statement reads.

The ministry also said that three UAVs were shot down by Russian air defense means. The Defense Ministry stressed that no one was injured during the Ukrainian armed units’ attack.

Earlier, the head of the Republic Sergey Aksyonov said that on the morning of July 24 during the attack of drones, an ammunition depot in Dzhankoy district was hit. Local authorities decided to evacuate the residents of the surrounding villages. Road and railroad traffic was temporarily restricted in the area.
