Sudan requests Russia’s help in resolving conflict between the army and rapid support forces

30.06.2023, Moscow.

The Sudanese delegation asked Russia for help in resolving the conflict between the Sudanese army and the country’s Rapid Support Forces during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Deputy Head of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council Malik Agar on June 30.

In Sudan, since April 15, fights between the Rapid Support Forces and the regular army began. The opponents make contradictory statements about each other’s success in fighting and controlling facilities.

As a result, a large-scale informational war broke out in the media and social networks. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said nearly a thousand civilians were killed. He also mentioned 4.7 thousand wounded who received injuries from April 15 to June 12.
