German politician call on Western allies to go for broke on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine

Western allies should now go for broke on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine, German CDU party defense expert Roderich Kiesewetter said, the German editorial network RND reported on May 23.

“Ukraine’s partners should now go for broke and supply Ukraine with everything it can use to fight with the simultaneous use of different types of weapons and what is permissible from the standpoint of international law,” Kiesewetter stressed.

“German Taurus cruise missiles with a range of up to 500 km would be a very useful contribution from Germany,” the expert said. According to Kiesewetter, the West should supply Kiev with everything NATO could use itself.

The Bundestag deputy argues that “there can be no more red lines.” He notes that Germany has few high-precision guided missiles, but they could significantly improve the quality of Ukraine’s combat, giving the Ukrainian armed units the ability to strike military infrastructure in Russia far behind the front lines.

Kiesewetter believes that it would be more appropriate to transfer these missiles to Kiev than to store them in Germany.
