When the USSR successfully developed its nuclear weapons it prevented a new war, political scientist and philosopher, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 12 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
“It was clear that (a US – Rossa Primavera News Agency) nuclear bomb was being prepared, and who knows what could follow in a situation when our country had been seriously devastated,” Kurginyan told.
He reminded that Stalin then decided to “divide the world.”
“That was a painful and a very serious decision. Besides, Comintern was removed for its sake, and it was transformed into Varga’s Institute. To this end, major changes took place, and the world was divided. And they (the USA – Rossa Primavera News Agency) began to hastily prepare the Nazis for a new war against us, this time under their banner, and we began to build our nuclear bomb, and due to heroic tremendous effort of our nuclear physicists we successfully built that bomb in 1949,” Kurginyan noted.
He reminded a dialogue of the central character with his father in the film Nine Days of One Year by Romm:
– Did you make the bomb?
– I did. And if we had failed to make it, we would have not had this conversation, dad, and half the humanity would have been eliminated.
“He (the character of the film – Rossa Primavera News Agency) is telling the truth. Two more years, and a war would have started with their nuclear monopoly, but this never happened. We exploded an atomic bomb, then a thermonuclear one, then we built the SS-18 ‘Satan’ missiles (R-36M2 – Rossa Primavera News Agency), and it became clear that they are dead if they dare to attack,” the political scientist explained.
“And then we showed them how a Russian-Vietnamese soldier can fight in Vietnam and in Korea. You know, ‘Okay, Vanya, let us show these bastards how the Koreans can fight!’ And we showed all that,” the expert added.
According to Kurginyan, the USSR showed its power in Afghanistan.
“When Khrushchev said – they say he was a fool (I am not Khrushchev’s apologist, but nevertheless) – he began to shout ‘We will show you something unprecedented’ in the UN, he meant the 100 megaton bomb! That had already been tested! Hiroshima and Nagasaki were under 100 kilotons. This means the test was 1,000 Hiroshimas strong, and the SS-18 missiles with multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles could easily defeat the US ballistic missile defense,” Kurginyan concluded.
