Russia the part of the Western world that cannot reject history, philosopher and political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 13 on the Right to Know TV program.
“Russia is the historical West. I am saying this as an opponent to Hegel – it is the historical West, it cannot reject history with which it is tightly connected, and at the same time it is a constant opponent to the West in the idea that history is something different,” Kurginyan noted.
According to Kurginyan, the cyclicity theory is alien to Russia. He referred to the examples of China and India, which are developing as modernizing countries, but they follow this cyclicity theory in the historicity aspect.
“China is booming, and in this it is modernization-oriented. But its historical basis is that a distracting axis is bad and a restoring axis is good. This is how it goes. India, of course, is booming as a developing country, but in its civilizational foundation it has Pralaya, cycles, Brahma created something and then Brahma will destroy something. This will be happening continuously according to Kali Yuga, Satya Yuga etc. All these are non-historical worlds, but cyclic ones in their basis,” Kurginyan told.
He quoted the words of Russian philosopher Aleksey Khomyakov that history was created by Zoroastrian Iran, the Judea of the prophets, and the Russian Orthodox Christianity.
“And this is a very special thing,” the political scientist stresses.
He also quoted the words of Tyutchev who opposed Bismarck.
“‘And we will try to do it with love,’ Tyutchev said replying to Bismarck. And now the West rejects history,” Kurginyan added.
