Europe will face food security problems very soon because of the cheap Ukrainian grain, says the summary from the war theater in the Essence of Time newspaper No. 532.
A New York Times article published in late April noted that the oversupply of cheap Ukrainian grain on the European market has led to serious problems for farmers in Eastern Europe because they cannot compete with it.
“Now European farmers are suffering from low prices due to the sale of cheap Ukrainian grain, as well as from another drought. As a result, in a couple of years, when Ukraine fully exhausts its export potential and the European agro-industry starts to collapse, the issue of food security will become very pressing,” reads the editorial of the Essence of Time newspaper.
