An air group crashed in the Bryansk region in Russia

According to preliminary information, an air group consisting of two Mi-8 helicopters and Su-34 and Su-35 fighters crashed in the Bryansk region, Kommersant newspaper informed on May 13.

The information needs to be confirmed. Bryansk authorities had previously reported that one helicopter had crashed.

According to preliminary information, the fighters and helicopters were in the same air group. The fighters were supposed to strike the facilities of the Ukrainian armed units on the territory of the Chernigov region of Ukraine.

Support helicopters, among other things, were to pick up the crew in case the fighters were shot down by the enemy. However, the entire air group did not return to the departure airfield, the weekly said.

The governor of the Bryansk Region Aleksandr Bogomaz previously reported that the helicopter crash resulted in the injury of a local resident and damage to five households.
