Kurginyan: The real Russia cannot be bourgeois

10.05.2023, Aleksandrovskoye.

The real Russia cannot be bourgeois, even though everything has been done to make it just like that, said philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in his article Old Being and New Goals published in issue 532 of The Essence of Time newspaper on May 6.

According to Kurginyan, “the real Russia, the one that knows how to keep standing in the most difficult situations, the one that is called upon to lead the way for humanity on a global scale throughout history, cannot be bourgeois. But everything has been done to ensure that it became just like that”.

Russia’s new goals – to survive in a difficult confrontation with the West – are diametrically opposed to the goals the Russian society has been setting for the last 30 years and more, expert points out.

Over the past decades, in fact since the beginning of perestroika, Russia has carried out pro-Western reforms; Western standards have been introduced; a consumer society has been created so that Russia becomes part of the West, an ordinary European country.

This project obviously failed. And now, modern Russia, built to enter the West, must fight the West.

“Such a decisive conflict between the old way of being and the new goals cannot be resolved overnight. The old way of being was taking place for a long time. It can be quickly brought down, but, also, that means that Russia will collapse. Therefore, it needs support, and understanding of how decisive the conflict is and what’s at stake; and that Russia is involved in it as a martyr to save humanity”, stressed Kurginyan.

“However, while maintaining this old way of being, one must recognize how much this, relatively, old way being is in confrontation with the new goals,” added Kurginyan.
