Suspect in the attempted assassination of Zakhar Prilepin confesses to working for the Ukrainian security services

The suspect in the attempted assassination of Zakhar Prilepin confessed to working for the security services of Ukraine. The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said this to journalists on May 6.

“Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are investigating in Aleksander Permyakov’s involvement in the attempt on Zakhar Prilepin’s. The suspect has been detained, and during the interrogation he testifies that he acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian security services,” the press service stated.

The press service noted that the suspect admitted that the attack was carried out remotely. Aleksandr Permyakov hid an explosive device on the road on which Zakhar Prilepin’s car was to move. After the remote detonation, the suspect fled from the scene of the crime, but was later detained by Russian law enforcement officers in another locality.

The Investigative Committee notes that the necessary procedure to examine the clothes and hands of the suspect was made.
